Quiet Baseball - Waiting in the Dugout

Not every part of the game is in motion. Some of it is just waiting.
The dugout sits just off the field, close enough to be part of the game, but removed from it at the same time. It’s where players spend most of their time, even if it’s not where the game is actually happening. There’s a rhythm to that too. Watching. Waiting. Getting ready. Then back to waiting again. It’s easy to overlook, because nothing is really happening on the surface. But that doesn’t mean it’s empty. There’s a different kind of energy there—quieter, more contained. A pause inside the game.
