In Passing: After the Rain

A simple yet striking floral photography moment where color, water, and detail shine.📸 Nature’s beauty often glows brightest after the rain. Every year, a group of us gets together for a guys' weekend at a friend's lake house. On this particular trip, we spent part of the day stuck inside while it absolutely poured cats and dogs.

Once it let up enough to get outside, I grabbed my camera and went wandering. I was hoping to catch some fog hanging over the lake, but I also started noticing what the rain had done to everything around me—the wet leaves, flowers covered in droplets, all the little details that weren't there before the storm.

This flower was one of them. The rain had moved on, but it left a little of itself behind.

I'm not particularly interested in standing outside taking pictures in a downpour, but I apparently have no problem heading out immediately afterward. What about you? Is there something you enjoy doing right after a storm?
